Mekong Delta, Saigon

Mekong Delta tour today, we jumped on a boat and headed up river to this great little village in the forest where they showed how they use every ounce of the coconut.

They had a python there, so I couldn't resist!

Made another stop to check out some fruit trees, then stopped for lunch... Normally I don't mind fish, but the look of this one made my skin crawl!

After that we jumped in some small river boats and headed for a cruise down the Mekong. It was so beautiful and peaceful!

Heading back to the hotel afterwards, I caught the perfect opportunity to catch a whole family on their scooter... from back to front, mom, wee kid, dad, kid, and even the family bird! Hilarious! In the background is the river and some of the local neighbourhood.

For dinner we went out to this great little restaurant that teaches street children skills so they can learn and develop these skills to use in the work place as adults with the hope that they will be able to support themselves and their family. Great little place!
